Rayhaan Tulloch Joins Rochdale On Loan

8 August 2022

Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Rayhaan Tulloch.

The 21-year-old forward joins Dale on a season-long loan from West Bromwich Albion, seeing him link up again with Robbie Stockdale and Jimmy Shan, both of whom he worked under at the Baggies.

Tulloch came though the youth system at The Hawthorns, after joining the club when he was nine-years-old, and he made his professional debut in January 2019, coming on as substitute in an FA Cup fourth round tie. Last season, he made two league appearances for West Brom.

Tulloch signed a four-year extension at The Hawthorns in July 2020 and two months after extending his stay in the West Midlands, he joined up with former Baggies Head Coach Darren Moore at Doncaster Rovers, where unfortunately his stay was cut short due to injury.

He has previously represented England at under-17 and under-18 youth level.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Tulloch commented: “I’m really pleased to have joined the club. It has been a long time coming and I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait to get back out there and play football again.

“I’ve worked with the gaffer and Jimmy Shan before and I like they way they operate. They’re good people and they’re the right people to help me progress in my football career.”

Manager Robbie Stockdale commented: “Ray is a fantastic talent.

“He broke onto the scene at West Brom. He knows my assistant Jimmy a little bit and I had the pleasure of working with him when I was at the Baggies with Big Sam. He trained a lot with the first team and I was really impressed with his ability.

“He’s probably sort of lost his way a little bit and he had a couple of injuries last year, but in terms of quality, he’s going to add us and I think he can maybe have bits of moments that are off the cuff and add a bit of x-factor in and around the place. We’re really pleased to have him.

“He can play anywhere across the front postitions and he can play as an attacking mifielder, so I like the fact that he can play a few positions, it gives us a bit of flexibililty.”

Welcome to the club, Ray!
