Founded in 1907, Rochdale AFC is an ambitious professional football team which has just celebrated 100 years since its first competitive match in the Football League and is currently in EFL League Two.

The Role
Recent changes in leadership and strategic direction have provided the opportunity for a full review of the organisational structure and as a result, the Head of Finance role has been created.
This is a rare opportunity to grow an existing and committed transactional finance function into a more strategic team which effectively supports and guides the future aims of Rochdale AFC.
Reporting to the COO and Finance Director, the successful candidate will lead a small team and be responsible for providing the Board with key financial management information and guidance on all operational financial matters to colleagues across the operation.
You will also identify efficiencies and develop, document and maintain internal controls, systems and procedures which are critical to the effective management of the Club and will determine its long-term strategy and always ensure robust financial control.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with experience of IFRS and UKGAAP is essential.
- A successful track record of managing a finance function, ideally gained within a sporting or events-based organisation.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with an ability to engage with colleagues of all levels across different departments.
- A proven relationship builder, with an ability to identify efficiencies and to drive change.
- Sharp attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent Excel skills and knowledge of Sage 50.
