Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that Max Taylor has signed a one-year extension to his current contract.
It means the 21-year-old defender is now contracted to the club until the summer of 2023.
Taylor, a product of Manchester United’s Academy, joined Dale last month and signed an initial 12-month deal.
He has made eight appearances since his arrival at the Crown Oil Arena.
“Max has done very well in terms of being exposed to a lot more senior football than he has in the past. He obviously came in on trial during pre-season and earned himself deal then, and he’s earned himself an extension to that on his performances and his attitude,” said Manager Robbie Stockdale.
“He’s a young central defender that will make mistakes but the pleasing thing is that he’s willing to work to rectify them and get better. I see that character in him, so to tie him down for another season is fantastic and we look forward to seeing how he develops.
“Max has shown that he deserves the extension to his contract and now that the window has shut, we’ll be looking to hopefully do that with other players as well.”
Congratulations, Max!
