Remembrance Day Commemorations

12 November 2021

Saturday’s match against Leyton Orient at the Crown Oil Arena is our official game of Remembrance.

Rochdale AFC wishes to pay tribute to those servicemen, women and former players who have fallen, as part of the 2021 Remembrance commemorations.

Before the match, the Rochdale AFC Military Veterans team and Royal Fusiliers will be conducting bucket collections, as well as selling poppies, outside the stadium and in our hospitality areas in aid of the Royal British Legion.

The Military Veterans team will then form a guard of honour before kick-off for both sets of players to walk through as they enter the pitch.

Dignitaries from the Royal British Legion and club representatives will form a line on the edge of the circle, with both managers and the Royal British Legion Chair laying poppy wreaths on the centre circle.

Our Club Chaplain, Richard Bradley, will read poem ‘For The Fallen’, which will be followed by the playing of ‘The Last Post’ and a minute’s silence.

Supporters are advised to be in the stadium early, as we expect commemorations to begin at around 2.50pm.

We will remember them.
