As Mental Health Awareness week comes to end, Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce that the Club now has a Mental Health First Aider.
Nicola Toolan, the Club’s Head of Safeguarding, has, this week, attended and completed an Online Youth Mental First Aid Course and has achieved the qualification through the Premier League Charitable Trust.
The four-day course focused on teaching in-depth skills which will allow Nicola to provide first aid to anyone across the Club who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.
"Rochdale Football Club takes mental health and well-being very seriously and it is an honour to have completed this course on behalf of the Club, particularly as Mental Health Awareness Week draws to a close," said Nicola.
"Although Mental Health Week is coming to an end, that shouldn’t mean the end to conversations around mental health.
"Having gained this new qualification, I will be keeping those discussions going, and will be the main point of contact for anyone at the Club who needs support."
Congratulations, Nicola!
