Kwadwo Baah To Join Watford

17 May 2021

Rochdale AFC can confirm that Kwadwo Baah will complete a move to Premier League club Watford FC on 1st July.

The 18-year-old will join The Hornets on a five-year contract for an undisclosed six-figure fee.

Baah, who was due to be out of contract with Dale this summer, had been offered an improved deal to stay at the Crown Oil Arena, but indicated his desire to join the Vicarage Road side.

The undisclosed fee agreed with Watford is higher than the fee Dale expected to be due in training compensation, had Baah moved on as a free agent at the end of his contract.

The youngster joined Dale as a 16-year-old scholar in September 2019, before signing an 18-month professional contract in February 2020 following his 17th birthday.

Baah made his first-team debut in October 2019 and scored his first goal for the club in December 2020, during a 5-0 win at Wigan Athletic.

He won the EFL Young Player of the Month award in January of this year, before earning his first call-up to the England Under-18s squad in March, making his debut in victory against Wales.

In total, he made 44 appearances for Dale, scoring three goals.

We would like to thank Kwadwo for his effort and commitment during his time at the club and wish him all the best for the future.

Supporters should also note that the club expect to announce our retained/released list in the next 48 hours.
