Dale Works: Working!

7 May 2021

Rochdale AFC Community Trust are on a mission to get people working - a mission that is already paying dividends.

The club’s official charity launched ‘Dale Works’ in January - an employability programme which, through a range of different offers, is helping to get people into jobs, education or training.

Whether you are over 50 and looking for a career change or aged 19-24 and looking to start a career in sports coaching, we can support you!

The first programme to launch was the online Leadership & Character Development Programme, delivered by Maverick Labs.

Participants have enjoyed 8 sessions to date, covering topics such as personal branding and resilience.

80% of participants are already into a ‘destination’  (employment or education) with 33% of participants on the course have already gained paid employment – a fantastic result with four sessions still to go!

Recently, Dale Works also launched a Steps to Change programme, delivered in partnership with PTF Training.

This programme is delivered face to face, with participants attending the Study Centre at the Crown Oil Arena every Wednesday for a tutor led group session followed by 1-2-1 support.

This programme launched in late April and places are still available- find our more:

Both the Leadership & Character Development Programme and Steps to Change are funded by the ESF, with the success to date leading to the programme being expanded into the second half of 2021.

Next up for Dale Works is a new traineeship programme, delivered in partnership with the EFL Trust.

The Traineeship Programme will be delivered in the Study Centre and starts w/c 10th May.

Aimed at 19-24 year olds, the course delivers formal English and Maths qualifications, employability support and an additional industry specific qualification.

All learners will shadow full time trust staff for 70 hours, giving hands on experience in the Sports & Leisure industry.

If you are aged 19-24 and would like to be a trainee with Rochdale AFC Community Trust you can get in touch by emailing community@rochdaleafc.co.uk

We only have space for 12 learners to join us, so get in touch without delay!

Rochdale AFC Community Trust are also supporting Rochdale Training by providing placement opportunities for trainees and Redwood School also continue to deliver an intern programme at the Crown Oil Arena.
