Soccer Schools at the Dale are back this Easter - and they are selling like hot cross buns!
The fun packed holiday clubs, a staple in Rochdale AFC Community Trust programme for 30 years, provide affordable childcare for parents during the school holidays.
Football and other multi-sports activities such as netball and rugby provide a fun filled day for children aged 5-12.
This year, thanks to sponsorship from Bombay Brew and the support of Link4Life’s ‘Fit & Fed’ programme, every attendee is provided with a free hot lunch.
Rochdale AFC Community Director Ryan Bradley commented: “We initially offered 30 spaces here at the Crown Oil Arena but, such was the response, we had to add a second venue at the Soccer Factory.
"I’d like to thank Ben Boothman and his team who will be providing hot meals to all attendees over both weeks - holiday hunger is an issue for many families and being able to cater for everyone who attends our Soccer Schools removes the stigma of asking for support.”
Siobhan McElhinney, Trust Manager, added: “Kids have been itching to get back to sport and the response has been brilliant.
“We have now sold out both weeks at the Soccer Factory and we only have a handful of spaces left here at the Crown Oil Arena.”
This Easters Soccer Schools are suitable for all boys and girls regardless of football ability and are fully inclusive, delivered by our fully qualified, DBS checked community team in a covid secure venue.
The camps cost £50 per week per child, which includes a hot lunch at no extra cost.
