We are delighted to announce that Stephen Dooley has signed a new one-year contract with the club.
The 29-year-old has spent three seasons at Dale so far, after initially joining the club in the summer of 2018.
He has clocked up 93 appearances for the club, including 37 last season, scoring five goals.
The Northern Irishman says he is looking forward to another season at the Crown Oil Arena.
“I’m delighted that I’ve been asked to stay on for another year,” said Dooley.
“We want to try and get back to where we were. We want to kick on and have a much better season.
“It was tough to take last year, especially coming close towards the end when we went on a good run.
“This year, we have such a good team with so many good players, I don’t see why we can’t be challenging near the top.
“I owe a lot to Brian and the staff. It’s great that I can have another chance to repay their faith in me.
“My time here has been up and down, but hopefully this year we can kick on a bit. We want to be winning games, playing good football and hopefully, with the fans back, it will be a much better season.”
