Conor Grant says he was all for a permanent move to the Crown Oil Arena on transfer deadline day.
The midfielder put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with Dale, completing a move from Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
“I’m excited to get going and I can’t wait to get started,” said Grant.
“My agent said to me a couple of weeks ago that Sheffield Wednesday were talking about a loan, but the gaffer here wanted a permanent deal, which I was all for. I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“I think I can develop a lot here, to be honest. I want to get games under my belt and it will be a really good experience for me. I want to get as many minutes as I can and hopefully kick on.
“I’d say I’m a creative player. I like to make things happen in the final third. I can play in midfield but will play anywhere I’m asked and I’ll give 100% every game.
“I’ve played with Gavin Bazunu at Shamrock Rovers. He’s a great lad and I can’t wait to see him! I’m sure all the lads are bang on so I’m looking forward to meeting them and getting started.”
