Part-Qualified Financial Accountant | Salary – up to £25K
Rochdale AFC are an ambitious professional football club, which recently celebrated 100 years since its first competitive match in the Football League and is currently in EFL League Two.
Recent changes in leadership and strategic direction have provided the opportunity for a full review of the Club’s Finance team and as a result, the Financial Accountant role has been created.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be based at our Crown Oil Stadium and will be integral to the day-to-day running of the Finance Department.
The role
This is an ideal opportunity for an AAT qualified or part qualified candidate who is looking for a role which can provide them with further stretch and challenge to augment their studies with practical experience.
Initially you will be dealing with all of the day-to-day transactional work within the department, but we anticipate that you will quickly be working on VAT submissions, compiling management information, providing financial analysis, cashflows and budgetary information etc.
We will support you as you complete your qualifications, both financially and with allocated time off. You will also benefit from working with a terrific mentor who will guide and coach you. For the right person, this role will develop as the Club’s ambitious strategic vision grows.
The Finance team is small and so the Financial Accountant is a crucial appointment. You will need to embrace the varied challenges presented by a small organisation but will be rewarded by gaining a real breadth of experience.
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience within a finance team is essential;
- Demonstrable understanding of accounts ledgers (nominal, purchase and sales);
- Ability to quickly learn how the organisation works;
- Ability to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines;
- Team player with strong customer service and problem-solving skills;
- Methodical with a good attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment;
- Numerate and accurate;
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel;
- A desire to learn and progress.
