Community Trust Distribute Food Hampers In Time For Christmas Day

24 December 2021

Rochdale AFC Community Trust have been spreading a little bit of festive cheer in the run up to the big day, by doing their bit to ensure that those who need it can have access to a Christmas dinner.

Hundreds of Christmas lunches have been provided to residents across the Rochdale borough who were nominated by Dale fans or agencies that work closely with the Community Trust.

Hampers including pigs in blankets, turkey slices, carrots, potatoes, parsnips, sprouts, stuffing, gravy, selection boxes, cheese, crackers and other Christmas favourites were delivered to people across the borough on December 23rd.

Employability Administrator for Rochdale AFC Community Trust, Nicola McCormack, commented: "Through our various employability programmes delivered this year we have built a good relationship with numerous groups who work with the most vulnerable people in Rochdale.

“Thanks to Rochdale Council we were able to provide hampers through our Dale Food Pantry to ensure people have a good meal on Christmas day.

“I’d also like to thank representatives from Great Places and the New Pioneers project for volunteering their time to make this happen!”

Rochdale AFC Community Trust would also like to extend thanks to Engaging Safety - each family hamper will also include a ROSPA safety kit for keeping children safe around the house.
