Club Working To Implement Improvements For Tuesday Night's Game

17 August 2021

Rochdale Football Club would like to apologise for any ticketing/ entry to the ground issues supporters encountered at Saturday’s game against Scunthorpe United.

Whilst the return of crowds to the Crown Oil Arena for our first home league fixture in 18-months was a success as a whole, we are aware of the issues regarding entry to the stadium. We would like to offer an apology to anyone who encountered a problem.

A new ticketing system was implemented during the pandemic, as well as automated turnstiles, and these are now being used en-masse for the first time.

We would like to re-assure fans that we are working to implement improvements for our next home game, and more turnstiles will be open for our match against Forest Green Rovers to help ease queues.

What can supporters to do help on Tuesday night and going forward?

As previously communicated, the Crown Oil Arena no longer operates cash turnstiles and is barcoded entry only. We urge supporters to use our online ticketing site to purchase their tickets before coming to the ground. Tickets will remain online until kick-off.

Buying online is the quickest and easiest way buy your match tickets and you can do so by following this link > https://www.rafcshop.co.uk/tickets/match-day-tickets

You can save your e-ticket directly to your phone and scan upon entry to the turnstiles.

In circumstances where you can only purchase from the Ticket Office, please do not leave this until the last minute. Our new ticketing system requires the details of all purchasers to be entered into our system, so it will take time to process your details and issue your match ticket. Therefore, to avoid delaying your entry to the ground further, please allow plenty of time to visit the Ticket Office.

Turnstiles open an hour before kick-off.

We were alarmed by the number of incidents where staff were subjected to abuse by supporters on Saturday. Whilst we understand and accept the frustrations of fans, we would like to remind supporters that this sort of behaviour will not be tolerated.

We ask fans for their patience and to please bear with us whilst we rectify the issues. Thank you for your understanding.
