Gabriel Osho on Dale’s draw with Ipswich Town and the side’s remaining eight games…
“It was a tough game that was scrappy at times,” said the on-loan defender, as he reflected on Easter Monday’s fixture.
“We created a couple of big chances where we could have tested their goalkeeper a bit more, but all in all, we’ll probably take the draw, especially coming into it off the back of how we finished the game against Portsmouth. I think we’re building momentum again now like we were before the international break and hopefully we can take that into the next game.
“The first half at Portsmouth obviously wasn’t great and we lost that half 2-0, but we were improved in the second half and got a goal, and today we kept a clean sheet against a good team with good players. We’ve got eight games left so hopefully we can kick on from here.”
He continued: “Everyone is upbeat, especially after that second half at Portsmouth. Now after this one, getting a first clean sheet after a while, everyone is positive and everyone believes that we can go to Fleetwood and get a result.
“Like Bri says, defending starts from the front, and I think the front guys were good at putting pressure on their back line. When they were playing it long it wasn’t always accurate, so it made the back five, including myself, and Lynchy’s job a bit easier.”
He added: “Since I’ve been here, there has only been a couple of performances where we’ve been outclassed or outworked in a game. That, and the philosophy that we try to stick by and play by, has given us the belief to just keep going.
“Now, over the last four games, we can see the progression and we can see the progression in terms of results. That is why we believe and why we are still upbeat [going into the last eight games].”
