Latest Injury Update

19 April 2021

Manager Brian Barry-Murphy provided an injury update in his post-match interview following Saturday’s win over Accrington Stanley…

The weekend’s match saw the return of Matthew Lund to action, who came on in stoppage time to make his first appearance since February.

“Matthew has come back quicker than had probably been advised but he has wanted to push and wanted to play while maybe still feeling a little bit uncomfortable,” said BBM.

“Jimmy Ryan, who has had a really traumatic four months with his knee injury, is hopeful of joining back in again, but the issue for Jimmy is that his absence has been so long that he has had other niggles which can be common when you’re returning from a long-term injury.

“Stephen Humphrys [remains out] with his hamstring [injury] - he feels as if he’s not capable of being involved yet. He’s on a similar timescale to Matty Lund but where as Matty is ok playing, Stephen isn’t ready yet.”

Meanwhile BBM revealed that Haydon Roberts will now miss the remainder of the season, having suffered a hamstring injury.

“Haydon Roberts damaged his hamstring quite badly in training after Tuesday’s game. The nature of the hamstring injury means that he’ll probably miss the rest of the season, bearing in mind that the rest of the season is so short.”

We’d like to wish Haydon a speedy recovery!
