The Youth Team were 1-0 winners over Salford City on Friday.
Joe Wright’s first time finish at the back post gave Dale all three points in the EFL Youth Alliance League.
It was their second game of the season, following a 3-0 defeat at Walsall on the opening day.
In a quiet first-half, Ben Kershaw fired the only real chance narrowly wide from the edge of the area after being set-up by Louie Chorlton.
The visitors had the first chance of the second-half, curling an effort wide, before Wright’s effort from a tight angle was turned round the post by the Salford stopper.
Chorlton then fired wide of the far post, before Dale broke the deadlock in the 75th minute.
The ball fell for Jordan Scanlon in the area, who squared to Wright to slide home from six-yards out at the far post.
Dale had further chances to add to their lead, with Wright and Chorlton firing off target, but they held on for a first win of the campaign.
