We’ve put together this iFollow Q&A ahead of Sunday’s League One fixture against Portsmouth…

I am a Season Card holder, when will I receive my free code for Sunday’s game against Portsmouth?
Season Card Holders will receive their codes on Wednesday/ Thursday of this week.

I’m a Dale Family Rewards Card Holder. Will I receive a free code?
Yes - all Dale Family Reward Card Holders will receive a free code to watch the Rochdale v Portsmouth Game. The Dale Family Rewards Card offers a different reward each month. The reward for August was 10% off in the Club Shop. The Reward for September is 1 x free iFollow pass for the Portsmouth game.

I am a Season Ticket Holder from last season and requested six iFollow passes as my refund. Will I receive a free code?
Yes - Season Ticket Holders from last season who requested six iFollow passes instead of a refund will receive a free code for the first six home league games.

How will I receive my code?
The code will be sent to the email address that is registered with the Ticket Office.
If you think the email address that is currently registered with the Ticket Office is out of date, or you haven’t registered one, then please email asap.

IMPORTANT Please note: If somebody purchased your Season Card / Dale Family Rewards Card on your behalf, the code will be sent to the purchaser’s email address. Therefore, for example, if the purchaser bought three cards, they will receive three emails with three separate codes. Therefore, it is the responsibility of whoever purchased your Season Card to distribute these codes to the relevant individual. Rochdale AFC will distribute codes to all purchasers with the correct quantities.

Somebody bought my Season Card on my behalf, why will the code be emailed to them and not myself?
Our ticketing system is designed for the purchaser. If a family purchase 4 x match tickets, the tickets will be sent to the one email address for the family to redeem. Therefore, the same applies with the group purchasing of Season Cards / Dale Family Reward Cards. The system will only pick up the purchaser email address but will send the relevant number of iFollow codes to the purchaser.

I am aged under 18. Will I receive a code?

Yes, you will receive a code. However, under-18s are unable to register for an iFollow account. You can redeem your code to an account that has been registered by someone aged 18 or over (eg. a parent or guardian).

Do I need an iFollow account to watch the game/ redeem my code?
You will need to register for an iFollow account to purchase your match pass. Register HERE.

We would like to remind supporters to futureproof their account by using the same email as your ticketing account.

I am being asked for payment details even although I have a free code. Is that correct?
Supporters will need to assign a valid payment method to their iFollow account (e.g credit card or debit card) to activate their streaming codes – however, you will not be charged.

Can I share my code with someone else?
The code can only be redeemed once. When it has been activated supporters can then login to iFollow to watch the match action on their preferred device. Please note supporters can only access the stream from one single device at a time.

Do I have to redeem my code immediately, or can I activate it at any time?
Once you have been issued with your code, we strongly recommend this is activated at the earliest opportunity. By activating your promotional code, you can then check that you are all setup correctly. Please do not leave it until the day of the game as your run the risk of it not working. Other clubs have reported difficulties when leaving the codes until immediately before kick-off.

What if my code doesn’t work or I have problems registering?
Should you not be able to successfully redeem your code, there is a range of useful FAQs here, which provides instructions on how to redeem, register for the first time, or link a code to an existing account. Should you require further support, please contact the iFollow support team via

I have not received my code. What should I do?
We have received reports that some codes are being diverted to supporters’ spam/junk (Hotmail) or promotions (Gmail) folders. Please check your spam folders.

If somebody else purchased your Season Card / Dale Family Reward Card on your behalf, the code will have been sent to their email address. You will need to contact who ever purchased your Season Card to forward on your code.

What devices can I watch the game on?
iFollow can be streamed via the EFL’s app, or through a desktop web browser on a computer or device.

Why can't I purchase/ redeem a match pass by using the EFL app?
Supporters will need to purchase a match pass on a web browser. However, once the pass is purchased, users can watch the game via the app.

I’m not a Season Card holder/ a Dale Family Rewards Card holder but would still like to watch the Portsmouth game. Is that possible?
Sunday’s game against Portsmouth is available to stream both in the UK and overseas. Match passes are on sale now. Click HERE to buy your pass in advance of matchday. Or click HERE to buy your pass on the day of the game.

How can I access technical support if something goes wrong?
Supporters are advised that technical support can be accessed through live chat on the website during the match, or by emailing the EFL iFollow team on
