To Dale fans everywhere, as we approach the start of a new Sky Bet League One season, our 99th year as a member of the English Football League, we would like to say thank you, to you the fans, for your continued support through all times, but especially during this very strange and difficult situation we are all now living through.
As a Club, we are working extremely hard behind the scenes to ensure that we are ready for the return of crowds to the Crown Oil Arena on October 3rd when we host Fleetwood Town, in order to make sure that we remain safe and legal, under the Covid guidelines and protocols.
On the pitch we have already started with two excellent wins away from home in Cup Competitions - the Carabao Cup and the EFL Trophy - and today sees us take on last season’s League Two Champions, Swindon Town. It goes without saying, but we wish Brian and the entire squad good luck for the match and for the season ahead.
By the time you read this, you will have seen that we have invested significantly as a Club to bolster our squad and support our Management team, by securing the signature of Stephen Humphrys. Whilst as a Board we will never compromise 113 years of solvency, we do have ambition both on and off the pitch, and it is ambition that has been behind this recruit.
As we get ready to kick-off the new campaign, we hope you'll get behind Brian and the team as we embark on our 2020/21 journey - our seventh consecutive season as a League One Club. We need your support, whether that be through the purchase of a Season Card, a Family Rewards Card, by buying an iFollow pass to watch Saturday's game live, by signing up to the revamped Dale Lotto, or by cheering us on from near or far, all support is very much appreciated.
Wishing Dale fans everywhere all the very best for the season ahead.
Up The Dale!
