Rochdale’s Integration Squad was in action this week, as they hosted Sheffield Wednesday Under-23s.

A mixture of first team and youth team players, as well as players from Dale’s Under-16s, were named in the matchday squad for the fixture at the Crown Oil Arena.

A Fabio Tavares second-half brace ensured Dale came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory.

The Owls opened the scoring fortuitously when an effort took a couple of deflections before creeping in over the line, but Tavares equalised from the spot after being brought down by the goalkeeper.

He put Dale ahead late in the game, rounding the ‘keeper and finishing into an empty net, having intercepted a short back pass.
