Tolaji Bola On Joining Dale

9 October 2020

Tolaji Bola says he can’t wait to put the Dale shirt on and play for the Club after joining from Arsenal.

The left-back has joined on loan from the Gunners until January and says he is looking forward to the opportunity.

“I’m so pleased to be here and I can’t wait to get going,” said Bola.

“I’ve heard about talks for the last couple of weeks and I’m just happy it got over the line and I can start working here now.

“I’ve only been here this morning, so I’ve only just met everyone, but it seems like a good bunch of lads. I’m buzzing to get to know them more and start working together.

“It was good to meet them and get involved straight away. We’re ready for the weekend now.”

The 21-year-old says he is already enjoying life under Brian Barry-Murphy and his coaching staff, and can’t wait to play first team football.

“We’ve been speaking a lot since I’ve been up here. It’s really good to hear his ideas and I think we can have a successful season.

“It’s massive for me to get first team football. I want to show what I’m about at this level and then go from there. I can’t wait to put the shirt on, play my first game and push on from there.”

Bola has feature for Arsenal’s Under-23 side already this season and feels ready to make his mark at Dale as a result.

“I played the first couple of games for Arsenal Under-23s. I feel fit after the break away and just ready to go.

“It’s [Arsenal] a huge Club. The way they play and their philosophy, but also off the pitch, making sure you’re behaving in the right way, is good. It’s a good setup and a good place to come up as a young player. I’m grateful for the experience that I’ve had there so far.”
