2020/21 First Year Scholars Confirmed

Rochdale AFC are delighted to announce a new intake of scholars to the Youth Team ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Academy Director Andrew Kelly oversaw the youngsters sign their two-year full-time scholarships on Wednesday.

All eight new scholars have graduated from the Rochdale Academy and will represent the Youth Team from next season.

Academy Manager Tony Ellis said: “We have a really exciting group of young players who have all come through the Academy system, which is another proud moment for the Club. We’re looking forward to working with and developing them further during their scholarships.”

The new first-year scholars are:

Brad Kelly (Goalkeeper)
Mikey Caldwell (Defender)
Kacper Mialkowski (Defender/Midfielder)
Ethan Brierley (Midfielder)
Ben Kershaw (Midfielder)
Jordan Scanlon (Midfielder)
Curtis Robinson (Wide Midfielder/Striker)
Peter Thomas (Forward)

They will join up with the rest of the Youth Team squad, who are now moving into the second year of their scholarships. They are:

Morgan Kinsella (Defender)
Louie DeSouza (Defender)
Joao Gouveia (Defender)
Luke Nock (Midfielder)
Louie Chorlton (Midfielder)

Joseph Wright (Forward)
Adam Cullen (Forward)
