TVOS Preview | Gillingham (H)

24 January 2020

Rochdale AFC’s matchday programme – The Voice of Spotland – is back for Saturday’s League One fixture against Gillingham.

The programme starts with a front cover image of MJ Williams, who scored his first career goal in last week’s FA Cup defeat at Newcastle United.

Manager Brian Barry-Murphy previews the afternoon’s game and discusses how players returning from injury have strengthened his injury-hit squad.

After that the programme is packed with features, including:

MY TEAM-MATES – Brad Wade reveals which of his team-mates is the manager’s pet;

WHATEVER HAPPENED TO? – Back to a time in football when the matchday delicacy at Spotland was famous and unique;

ROOM 101 – Jay Lynch tells us his pet hates;

BACK OF THE NET – a whole-season article focusing on the exploits of Dale’s top 25 goalscorers of all-time, this time with 1950s/60s forward Frank Lord.

Traveller’s Tales reports on the trip to Burton and we have action photos from the games against Portsmouth and Boston (home).

Our historical pages – ‘On This Day’ and ‘Through The Years’ – will help readers to jog their Dale memory banks, while regular contributors Scrutator, Brian Quigley, Steven Rittey and John Rowe are back with their thought-provoking and informative columns.

Visitors Gillingham receive extensive coverage, including a look at three previous meetings from the angle of the kits worn by both teams.

All this and much, much more will be in Saturday’s The Voice of Spotland, on sale in the Club Shop and around the ground, priced £3.00.
