Dale have nearly a full complement of players available for this weekend’s game against Gillingham, says manager Brian Barry-Murphy.

That includes loan signing Tyler Smith, who joined up with the squad this week following his move from Sheffield United last week.

“Tyler is fit and ready to go,” said Barry-Murphy.

“He’s trained with us for the whole week so he’s available for selection.

“He brings fresh impetus to the squad and has helped us in our overall picture of wanting to continue to move the squad forward, and just add different dynamics to what we believe is already a talented and extremely vibrant squad.

“We’ll continue in our process of trying to improve that bit by bit, and I suppose that involves every transfer window, trying to add a little more quality and reward the players who have carried us through this season.”

Just Callum Camps and Robert Sánchez remain side lined for this weekend, both with groin injuries.

“Callum has a groin problem and won’t be available for a couple of weeks, which is probably down to the workload he’s had this season which has been amazing.

“Robert is back at Brighton receiving treatment for his groin injury and he won’t be available for this game.

“Other than that, I’m pretty sure that we have everybody back in full training and although certain players are at different stages of their conditioning, they will all be available for the game on Saturday, which will be brilliant for everybody to see.

“We’re starting to build from a real position of strength, in terms of getting players back.

“I’m finally feeling confident that I can say that without fear of losing two or three more, because we have nearly everybody back to full fitness now, with only a couple of players missing for this Saturday. It gives everyone a huge lift and makes everyone around the place feel better.

“We said at the start of the season that we were happy to go with a smaller squad, but the spate of injuries that we’ve had has been unprecedented in my time at the Club.

“We couldn’t have planned for that, so to see all those players coming back to fitness, albeit at different stages, for Saturday and beyond, should provide everyone with a huge fillip of confidence and really give us belief going into what is an exciting time of the season.”
