Dale’s NCS Students Raise Money For Charity

14 December 2020

The Dale in the Community Trust’s NCS students raised money for charity last month by running or walking 5k every day for a week.

The young participants on the course were tasked with completing a social action project. Under normal circumstances the teenagers would have volunteered 30 hours of their time in the local community. However, due to the programme taking place during England’s second lockdown, the teenagers had to work remotely and on their own, so they came up with the idea of raising funds for charity.

Having set up a fundraising page, they raised £115 for Rochdale based charity 'One Nation'. Click HERE to read more about One Nation.

Established in 2009, National Citizen Service (NCS) is a voluntary and social programme for 15-17-year olds in England and Northern Ireland. It provides the opportunity for young people to overcome their fears, make new friends and gain new skills.

Well done to all the students!
