We've had it confirmed that, as far as records show, Peter Thomas became the youngest ever player to feature in an EFL Trophy match, when he came on as a second half substitute in Wednesday night's Leasing.com Trophy group stage tie against Manchester City U21s.
That night, the Rochdale Academy Under-16 player also became Dale's youngest ever debutant.
The club record had previously been held by Luke Matheson, who made his debut in last season’s competition at 15 years and 336 days.
