Manager Brian Barry-Murphy believes Ian Henderson’s nomination for the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month Award for August is a great reward for Hendo and the team.

The Dale Skipper has been shortlisted for the accolade following an impressive month for Rochdale, during which the team has received the plaudits for its excellent style of play and some fine team goals.

“The nomination is a great reward,” said the Boss.

“Ian has put a lot of work in during the close season to get himself stronger and quicker this season, which we’ve seen the rewards of. He’s had an extremely exciting start to the season, but I think he’d be the first one to state how much help he’s getting from his team-mates and how much their standards are helping him get even better.

“He’s one of the players who constantly wants to improve himself which is refreshing for a player of his experience and skill. He’s had a great start to the season and that’s testament to the team for the amount of chances and service they’re providing for him.
