The Youth Team drew 0-0 at Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Youth Alliance League North West on Saturday.
Adam Cullen fired narrowly wide of the far post in the first-half for Dale, after being picked out by Ollie Patrick’s through ball.
Goalkeeper Ben Chalton made two good stops from Luke Ward free-kicks, before making a brave double save from Charlie Caton and Ward’s follow up.
He then denied James Rowland from the edge of the area, before Dale substitute Anisio Jesus fired an effort at the Shrewsbury goalkeeper after a strong run forward.
The hosts best chance came from the penalty spot, but Ward fired the spot-kick wide. Shrewsbury also struck the underside of the bar in the closing stages, after Caton’s fierce strike.
