Ladies Make It Five Wins In A Row

24 October 2019

Rochdale AFC Ladies made it five wins in a row with a convincing victory over Baguley Athletic on Sunday.

Dale started well, maintaining possession and controlling play confidently. Despite creating chances, the Ladies couldn’t find the back of the net early on, but the well-deserved opener wasn’t long in coming.

Nic Delaney broke the deadlock, firing a well-struck effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Erin Kilpatrick doubled the lead moments later, finding the bottom corner after superbly dummying past a Baguley defender.

The third came from Brooke Strudwick, scoring her first goal for Dale by rounding the goalkeeper and slotting home after latching onto a great through ball.

Dale’s quick passing and switching of play was too much for the opposition to handle, and led to their fourth goal of the game.

Emma Flynn cut inside from the left and saw her effort superbly tipped on to the crossbar by the Baguley goalkeeper, but Emily Smith was on hand to slot home the rebound.

The scoring was rounded off by Geo Cocking, who dribbled past two defenders before expertly chipping the goalkeeper to make it 5-0.

The Player of the Match was awarded to Erin Kilpatrick for her dominant midfield performance throughout the game.
