We are delighted to announce that our fantastic Wonderwall located on Sandy Lane has won the top award (Level 5) in the North West In Bloom - It’s Your Neighbourhood Award for the second year running.
The Wonderwall is a fantastic feature as you arrive at the Crown Oil Arena and has made a massive improvement to the corridor of Sandy Lane.
It is maintained by volunteers within the local community and the flower beds were funded by Crown Oil and Gordon Rigg Garden Centre.
In addition, the Wonderwall was part of the collective Rochdale In Bloom nomination which also scooped the Gold Award in the Small City Category and the Best Small City Award 2019!
Roy Down, Chairman of the Rochdale In Bloom Committee said: “It is absolutely fantastic for the Wonderwall to receive this award two years running and for Rochdale In Bloom to have won the Gold Award and Best Small City Award.
"It’s down to a lot of hard work and commitment from volunteers and is a wonderful achievement.
"We’ve already got ideas for a Winter Wonderwall and want to make next summer’s feature even better!"
