‘Hire The Crown Oil Arena Pitch’ has proved to be a huge success in the last few weeks!
Since the end of April, following our final home match of the season against Southend United, the pitch has been available for hire, with hundreds of youngsters and adults running out at the Crown Oil Arena.
Pupils from local primary and secondary schools took part in our Schools Cup tournaments, organised by the Rochdale Academy and Dale In The Community Sports Trust, with the opportunity to lift silverware at the end of the day.
Junior Soccer League held their ‘Play On The Pitch’ tournament, which also launched their new Rochdale, Oldham & District league, with hundreds of Under-9s experiencing the thrill of playing in a League One stadium.
The Community Trust’s Rochdale AFC Ladies and Disability Counts teams also had the opportunity to play on the pitch, as well as the Club’s Elite Development Squad.
Local junior club Spring Hill Park held a tournament, whilst the pitch was also hired out to numerous groups of friends to fulfil their dreams of playing at the Crown Oil Arena.
All this has happened before work starts on the renovation of the pitch, week commencing Monday 27th May.
