An Injury Update From BBM Ahead Of Saturday’s Game

22 March 2019

Brian Barry-Murphy has revealed in his pre-match interview that Zach Clough is facing a spell on the sidelines due to an ankle problem, while a late call will be made on Ethan Ebanks-Landell’s availability for Saturday.

“Zach has had a scan on his ankle and it’s a similar problem to what he’s had before,” said BBM.

“He’s going to be out for three or four weeks. It has been a disappointing a season for Zach. He hasn’t been able to get on the training pitch for long enough periods to make himself fit and robust enough to go into games and sustain the knocks that are inevitable in games.

“It seems like it’s all going against him at the moment in time, but that’ll change for him because he wants to work hard.”

Meanwhile, Ethan Ebanks-Landell has been back training with the squad this week and has put himself forward for selection for Saturday’s match.

“Ethan is training and he’s trying to convince us that he’s fit for the game but I’m not sure if he’s ready, so we’ll make a decision on him closer to the game. For a loan player, his commitment and his want to play is inspiring and the lads will respond to that, but we’ll see.

“All players are desperate to be involved at this late stage in the season and it’s my job at this moment in time to make those decisions.”

Long-term absentees Josh Lillis and Rekeil Pyke remain sidelined, with Andy Lonergan’s emergency loan spell renewed for another week.
