The Youth Team ran out impressive 4-0 winners over Huddersfield Town on Tuesday afternoon.
All the goals came in the second-half, thanks to clinical Dale finishing.
Musambya Kisimba opened the scoring with an exquisite lob. The Huddersfield goalkeeper raced out of his goal to head clear a ball forward, but only sent it as far as Kisimba, who fired home a first-time cushioned lob into the back of the net.
The second came shortly after, when Luke Nock’s superb diagonal ball found Peter Thomas, who out-muscled his defender and showed a great touch before powering into the area, and coolly finished beyond the advancing goalkeeper into the bottom corner.
Joe Wright converted Dale’s third, latching on to Ethan Brierley’s perfectly weighted through ball before sliding the ball home first-time from just inside the area.
The scoring was complete shortly before full-time, when Nock curled home a free-kick from just outside the area, sealing an emphatic victory for Dale.
