North West In Bloom judges paid a visit to our fantastic Wonder Wall on Monday.
The feature is going for a hat-trick of wins this year, aiming to win the North West In Bloom Competition for the Outstanding (Level 5) It’s Your Neighbourhood Award for the third year in a row. The award is the highest in the community category.
Judges Bernard Pendleton and Maxine Lord from In Bloom [pictured above] were impressed by the Wonder Wall, commenting on its striking presence along Sandy Lane, as well as its community values.
In June, over 35 volunteers helped to plant up the feature, which included members of the Rochdale Environmental Action Group, Rochdale In Bloom, local residents, Dale staff and supporters.
Last year, the Wonder Wall was one of a number of horticultural features around the Rochdale Borough which contributed to Rochdale In Bloom picking up the Gold award in the Small City category.
