Fact 1 | Eoghan’s first name is pronounced as Owen

Fact 2 | His nickname is Bones/ Bonesy, something that has stuck with him since he was a child

Fact 3 | He was born in Cork on 13th August 1995

Fact 4 | O'Connell played for the College Corinthians and Avondale United Irish Academy teams before switching to the Celtic Academy in 2011.

Fact 5 | His former clubs include Celtic, Cork City, Bury Oldham Athletic and Walsall

Fact 6 | He has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at U19 and U21 level

Fact 7 | He has played Champions League football with Celtic

Fact 8 | Eoghan is from a sporting family. His father and brother both played for Cork City, while his cousin is former Irish rugby captain Paul O'Connell
