Manager Brian Barry-Murphy on the return of Rekeil Pyke to the Crown Oil Arena…
The forward joined Dale on a season-long loan from Huddersfield Town on Wednesday afternoon.
“One of the main facets of our loan targets this season has been to add players to the group who possess different qualities to what we’ve got already, and Rekeil certainly has that,” said BBM.
“We believe that he adds a different dimension to our attacking play and he has a list of skills and qualities that are unique. We’re very happy to have him back.
“He came back to us [from the Terriers] towards the end of last season having had a very bad hamstring injury and his commitment to the cause was amazing, when a lot of players would have been happy to stay at their parent Club.
“He showed a huge desire to come back and help us retain our League One status, and it’s that type of attitude and commitment to the Club which is imperative when you’re bringing in players from other clubs. It’s important that our players see that type of attitude and commitment because they are excited by that.
“The atmosphere in the dressing room upon his return has been exceptional, which tells you the stature that he holds within our dressing room.”
