Players Visit Young Supporter In Hospital

6 January 2019

First-team players Ryan Delaney and Josh Lillis visited Dale fan James Dean Cooney at the Royal Oldham Hospital earlier this week.

Nine-year-old James has been fighting sepsis and meningitis since before the New Year, and came out of an induced coma on Wednesday.

He was well enough to receive visitors on Thursday and Delaney, Lillis, Chief Executive David Bottomley and the Community Trust’s Siobhan McElhinney went along to lift James’ spirits.

It has been heart-warming to see the magnificent messages of support that James Dean has received on our social media channels from his fellow Dale fans and supporters of other clubs. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Keep fighting, James Dean!
