I'm Looking Forward To The Challenge - Jimmy Keohane

1 February 2019

Jimmy Keohane says he is looking forward to the challenge.

The 28-year-old free agent has put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season and hopes contribute to the Dale cause in that time.

“I’m happy to get it done,” said Keohane.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and contributing to the team as much as I can.

“It’s going to be tough. There’s a good few games coming up in which we need to pick up some good results.

“Hopefully we can build up a bit of momentum towards the end of the season.”

Keohane has previously spent time at Exeter City, making almost 100 appearances for the Grecians in the EFL.

“I’ve played for five-and-a-half years in England before, so I’m used to the EFL and it will be a good test in League One.”

He has played in a number of positions for Cork City over the last two seasons, where he enjoyed success alongside current Dale players Ryan Delaney and Stephen Dooley.

“Wherever the Manager asks me to play I’m going to try and fill to do a job there.

“Being versatile does stand you in good stead, so hopefully I can get on the pitch and show that.

“It’s been easy to settle in. It’s a welcoming group and the training has been good, so I’m really looking forward to my time at the Club.

I’ve been staying with Dool’s [Stephen Dooley] who has helped me to settle in a lot.”
