Generous Dale Fans Donate Items For Rochdale Foodbank

15 February 2019

Rochdale Football Club would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who donated towards our collection for the local Foodbank at Saturday’s game against Coventry City at the Crown Oil Arena.

In total, 107 items were handed in by our very generous supporters!

A range of food items were donated, including tea, coffee, cereal, UHT milk, snacks/ crisps, pasta and soup.

Rochdale Foodbank is a charity based on South Parade in the town centre, which opened its doors in November 2012 and exists to provide food to anyone in crisis who are struggling financially and unable to feed themselves.

There are over a hundred volunteers who give up their time each week and undertake tasks from staffing the warehouse to filling up food boxes, from chatting to customers to inputting data on the computer. Last year they fed 4,943 adults and 2,169 children who would otherwise have gone hungry.

We were delighted to welcome representatives from the Rochdale Foodbank to the Crown Oil Arena as Charity Match Ball sponsors, when Dale hosted Coventry City.

If you would like to know more or want to get involved please get in touch either by telephone 01706 713 701 or email info@rochdale.foodbank.org.uk.
