Injury Update

27 August 2019

First Team coach Lee Riley provided an injury update when we caught up with him ahead of Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup Round Two tie against Carlisle United at the Crown Oil Arena…

“Harrison Hopper is back in training,” said Riley.

“He’s had an ongoing niggly problem which has no long-term concern, it’s just where he is in his natural growth and where he is in his physical development, and that’s something we need to manage as we go.

“Alby [Aaron Wilbraham, calf problem] isn’t far off now. He’s in the latter stages of his rehab, but we’re not going to rush him back. We want to make sure that when he is back fit, that he’s fully ready to go back in and support the squad, which we know he will do.

“And we’re following the same process with Ryan McLaughlin [who had been sidelined since pre-season due to a robust challenge in the game against Bradford City] in terms of his rehab, because the player’s well-being is integral to his recovery. We hope he might be back involved at some point later in the week.”
