Loan Watch | Matty Gillam Makes Cork City Debut

16 April 2019

Matty Gillam made his debut for Cork City last week, following his loan move to the League of Ireland Premier Division side in February.

The forward suffered an injury in the warm-up of their season opener just days after joining the Rebel Army, meaning he has had to wait to appear for the Club.

Having recovered from his setback, the 20-year-old made his debut as a late substitute in Cork’s 1-1 draw with St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday evening.

He made his second appearance in Monday night’s game at University College Dublin, coming on as a 53rd minute substitute for former Dale man Graham Cummins, but couldn’t prevent his side slipping to a 2-1 defeat.

Cork currently sit 7th in the SSE Airtricity League. Their next match sees them travel to Waterford on Friday night (19th April, 19:45 kick-off).
