Dale were leading the way at the top of the League Two table, but looked to be heading for defeat when two goals in four minutes from Michael Symes and John Miles put the hosts 2-0 up.
However, a double from skipper Gary Jones brought Dale level, before Chris O’Grady completed the turnaround in the final ten minutes.
And there was time for one more, when Kallum Higginbotham struck from the halfway line in added time to round off the scoring.
