Preview | Scunthorpe United (A)

7 September 2018

Scunthorpe United v Rochdale | Glanford Park, Sky Bet League One, Saturday 8th September 2018, 3pm Kick-Off

Dale are back on the road in Sky Bet League One action with a trip to Scunthorpe United on Saturday.

Last weekend’s 1-0 victory at Coventry City was followed up by a 2-1 win over local rivals Bury in the Checkatrade Trophy during midweek.

Scunthorpe appointed former Bradford City manager Stuart McCall at the end of August and they drew 1-1 at Accrington Stanley in his first game in charge last weekend, with their only win of the season coming at Coventry on the opening day.

TEAM NEWS

Ryan Delaney is unavailable for selection due to his international call-up to the Republic Of Ireland under-21 squad. Keith Hill confirmed Connor Randall is set to be out for 12 weeks after sustaining a fractured cheekbone in Dale’s win over Bury on Tuesday.

OPPOSITION VIEW

Scunthorpe boss Stuart McCall says he expects an open game at Glanford Park

“Certainly at home the onus is on us to excite the fans and get balls into the box and shots on goal,” said McCall. “We’ll try to work things but I’m also aware, because we have a young group, that we don’t overload them with too much information.”
