I Want To Be Successful In The Checkatrade Trophy - Keith Hill

3 September 2018

Manager Keith Hill has hinted that he’ll look to make changes for Tuesday night’s Checkatrade Trophy group stage tie against Bury at the Crown Oil Arena.

“I want to be successful in the tournament,” said Hill in his post-match interview on Saturday.

“There’s a certain side that I want to pick. There are players who need games so if I can match the criteria and change the side completely, then I’ll try my best to.

“There are players like Connor Randall and Sam Hart who need to catch up to speed.

“I want to try and wrap the senior players up in cotton wool. There’s an over-30s squad which I want to protect, because they are going to be useful like David Perkins was when he came on today [Saturday].

“On Tuesday, I want to try and select the likes of Matty Gillam, Jordan Williams and Zach Clough, and see if I can get away with it.”
