Ryan Delaney has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for their upcoming UEFA Under-21 Qualifiers.
Noel King’s side will play two games during the latest round of international fixtures, taking on Kosovo and Germany.
- Kosovo v Republic of Ireland: Friday 7th September, Stadioni Adem Jashari (7pm KO)
- Republic of Ireland v Germany: Tuesday 11th September 2018, Tallaght Stadium (6pm KO)
They currently sit second in Qualifying Group 5, three points behind leaders Germany having played a game less. Ireland’s last outing was a memorable one, with Shaun Donnellan scoring a crucial 96th minute winner against Azerbaijan.
The nine group winners qualify automatically for the finals, which take place in Italy and San Marino in 2019, while the four runners-up with the best records against the teams in first, third, fourth and fifth in their group go into the play-offs to decide the last two qualifiers.
Italy have a bye to the finals in summer 2019 but co-hosts San Marino must qualify.
