I’m Looking Forward To Pitting My Wits Against Wycombe - Keith Hill

22 October 2018

Manager Keith Hill on Tuesday night’s League One fixture against Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park…

“Gareth Ainsworth is an amazing character within the game,” said Hill as he spoke of his Chairboys counterpart.

“He was an apprentice at Blackburn Rovers when I was a professional there, so I know him very well and I think he has done an amazing job.

“I’m looking forward to going and pitting my wits against Wycombe. We’ve got a good away record at this moment in time and I want to continue that.”

He continued: “It doesn’t matter which opposition we play, we’ve got our own DNA.

“We do a lot of planning with respect to the opposition but it’s important that our players represent what we do, and that DNA and what we do at Rochdale Football Club was on show on Saturday against Bradford City.

“I’ve got a good squad of players and I’ve got to find a balance. I thought I got the right balance with respect to pace and passers and energy on Saturday, but every single one of the players, whether they’re passers or have pace or not, all showed that determination and grit in times of need.

“It doesn’t matter who we play, as long as that DNA is represented when the players put that shirt on, then we’ll be fine.”
