Manager Keith Hill has revealed that Ian Henderson was behind the decision to reward Kgosi Ntlhe with the Captain’s armband for Dale’s League One fixture against Doncaster Rovers.
It’s the second consecutive game the 24-year-old has captained the side, after leading the team to a Checkatrade Trophy victory over Fleetwood Town midweek.
“Ian Henderson is the club skipper and the team skipper, and on a matchday it’s over to Ian Henderson,” said Hill in his post-match interview.
“If he wants to reward a player by giving him the armband to lead us out and I don’t object to it, then I have full trust in that decision. And I thought it was a good choice.
“It’s something I’ve had a conversation with Hendo about and it’s something I’ve expressed a desire with him to do if he wants to, knowing that he has my full trust.”
