Community Preview | Doncaster Rovers (H)

11 October 2018

Take a look at what the Dale In The Community Sports Trust have going on at Saturday’s match at home to Doncaster Rovers…

Harvey Bottomley will be the mascot leading the teams out ahead of kick-off on Saturday.

He is celebrating his sixth birthday next week and lives in Saddleworth, where he attends Holy Trinity School in Dobcross.

Harvey plays for Saddleworth Strikers and is a regular at the Community’s half-term football and multi-sport sessions.

His ambition is to play for Rochdale one day, following in the footsteps of favourite players Ian Henderson and Callum Camps.

As part of our new ‘School of the Week’ initiative, Saturday will see the first of the selected schools attend a match at the Crown Oil Arena.

St Andrew’s Primary School and Greenbank Primary School will face each other at half-time of the match against Doncaster Rovers, whilst other youngsters from the schools will act as flag bearers before kick-off.

In recent weeks, Stephen Dooley and Magnus Norman have visited St Andrew’s, whilst Joe Rafferty and MJ Williams went to Greenbank, as part of the initiative.

Our FREE junior event before this weekend’s match is an arts & crafts workshop!

Join us in the Carlsberg Lounge from 2pm, where youngsters can get creative with the chance to make their own fabric snap-on bands, glitter tattoos and body art!
