SHORTLIST
Chris Maguire – Burton Albion v SUNDERLAND – 15th September
Allowing a player to shoot from 25 yards is usually fine if you can see it coming, yet such was the purety of Maguire’s strike that Burton keeper Dimitar Evtimov couldn’t get near it.
Ivan Toney – Gillingham v PETERBOROUGH UNITED – 22nd September
A fine team goal was given the finish it deserved. As a succession of passes swept the ball towards Toney, he opened up his stance to arc the ball beautifully into the far corner.
AARON WILBRAHAM – ROCHDALE v Portsmouth – 29th September
He may be 38 now and on to his 11th club, yet Wilbraham cannot have caught many volleys as cleanly as this stunning dipper after teeing the ball up perfectly on his instep.
The shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.
The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; Sky Bet Sponsorship Manager Michael Holinski and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.
