The Youth Team were beaten 2-0 by Wigan Athletic in the EFL North West Youth Alliance League on Saturday.
An even game saw both sides create half-chances in the opening half, with Brad Wade saving Mitchell Culshaw’s for the visitors early on.
Lewis Bradley’s interception created an opportunity for him midway through the half, but he was his low effort well held.
Florent Hoti then fired wide of the near post from the edge of the area, before James Neild’s header back across goal troubled the Wigan defence.
However, they took the lead through Luke Robinson’s excellent free-kick, before Kyle Joseph doubled the lead shortly before the full-time.
