Joe Thompson’s Strike v Charlton Athletic Shortlisted For NWFA Goal Of The Year

We’re delighted to announce that Joe Thompson’s strike against Charlton Athletic on the final day of the 2017/18 season has been shortlisted for ‘Goal of the Year’ at the upcoming North West Football Awards.

The awards ceremony takes place in Manchester next week. Ryan Delaney and Ian Henderson are also up for awards on the night, having been named as finalists following the initial round of voting. 

As you all know, Joe’s goal proved to be the most important one of the season, with the win over the Addicks helping Dale secure League One survival at the expense of Oldham Athletic.  

But he needs your help to win the award. To vote for Joe, please tag @NWFAwards in your tweet and use the hashtag #NWFAGoalH It’s really important that you use the correct hashtag otherwise your vote won’t count.

Joe is up against Sammy Ameobi, Wayne Rooney, Conor McAleny, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Georgia Stanway, Nemanja Matic and Alan Browne to be crowned the winner, so if you’ve got a spare a minute, please head over to Twitter and cast your vote! Voting closes at10.00 pm on Monday 12th November.
